I don't want to freak anybody out, but I'd like to be as transparent as possible here in case there is something going on. Two of the Arrived have gone missing on Andromeda ~~that I'm aware of~~. If you could check in with each other and work out a buddy system, that'd be great. Anyone who wants in on the team I'm putting together is welcome to join.

I'm Noctis, for the people I haven't met yet. I really hope this doesn't turn out to be A Thing, but if it does, we'll be ready for it.

[ Another picture is sent. Lucas is tapping at Henruit's head in what could possibly pass for a pet. And yeah, maybe there's more pressing matters than sending pictures but Gladio hopes it at least, for even a moment, gives a reprieve from what he's sure are a million thoughts going a million miles a minute in Noctis' head. ]

Have you tried to get someone to reach out to that Anderson guy? One's a coincidence but two and we can safely say this is probably targeted and he seemed less than keen on the fact any of us exist here.

~~Seriously?~~ Okay. So me and EDI here are overkill. Pretty sure Caroline could kick anyone's ass who came through her front door - who do you want to stay with them and who's heading back your way now that you're down a team member?

If nothing with Anderson pans out I'd say anyone who showed up to that protest is fair game - I'd run them all through facial recognition and see if anything dicey comes out.

This job means a lot to me. I want to help people. But if I'm making it worse?

I don't know. I'll have everyone vote after we get through this and see what my people think. I'm willing to step down if it's the best thing for everyone.

[ He doesn't reply to the last message because he's got his hands full, half a dozen bags of food hanging between them, and only a few minutes away from the building anyways. He'd left Henruit at Caroline's - a look of indignation from the dog when Gladio had tried to get him to come along. Which Gladio supposed was just as well. Of all of them Lucas was the one most unable to defend himself and Gladio felt a bit better walking away knowing both EDI and Henruit were there.

Gladio set the bags of food and drink down for everyone and then immediately moved to Noctis. He wrapped his arms tightly around Noct, not really caring that there was an audience in the room - most of them he assumed had already figured out things weren't exactly a normal friendship between them and the food provided a good distraction. Gladio just held on for a long moment before he pulled back to let his hands rest on Noctis' shoulder and their gazes lock. ]

You got this. [ And he couldn't help but think of those dark days in the wake of Altissia so many years ago. How it should have been this instead of the communication breakdown they'd fallen into - both too lost in their own anger and grief and worry. Working against each other instead of with each other. This was better. So much better. ]

There's a rice bowl in there for you, no veggies. [ And he doubted Noctis would eat more than a few bites of it, but it would at least be something. Gladio dropped his hands and moved back to the table, Ilayne handing him notes of where they were at so far as he sat in one of the chairs. ]

[ Noctis didn't realize Gladio was even there before strong arms were wrapping around him, and he made a soft, desperate little noise in the back of his throat, immediately burrowing in close. It helped so much. He felt grounded in a way he couldn't name, like his feet were finally touching land after years and years trapped at sea. The room wasn't quite so loud as it had seemed a moment ago, either, and he could breathe, shaky and uneven, but there.

This was infinitely better than how they'd handled tense situations in the past. Noctis gave a little nod at Gladio's words, but there was more to the gratitude warming his whole expression. So much more. He tightened his grip on when his friend moved to go, however, and drew Gladio in close again for one last hug, murmuring a quiet, ] Love you, [ under his breath.

It didn't fix everything. Not by a long shot. But Gods, did he feel more like a person now. So he reluctantly let Gladio leave and turned to pick at some of the food, managing to keep a bit down while he worked on reviewing what they'd gathered on the protesters. ]
