Lilith's brows furrowed when the man did not even seem to heed the hunter's warning nor did he seem to even listen to her telling him to leave. He was interfering. He'll just make things worst.
But all her doubts and worries were blown away when the man moved like the wind. So fast, he seemed like a blur amongst the shadows. Lilith was stunned and she stood frozen in her place. The next thing she knew was she felt blood squirting against her. Warm and fresh blood. Then the tell-tale noise of the man, who had grabbed her earlier gurgling and choking, in his own blood. Suddenly, all she could smell and see were blood. Her senses being bombarded with the stench of human flesh and blood. Her ears hurting from the cries of pain and agony of the men who had been hunting her.
This was definitely not what she had expected to happen tonight. In her head, she was supposed to be dead by now. Gone to the world and back in the arms of her deceased husband. The tears she had been holding back finally trickled down her cheeks and her wobbling knees finally gave in. Lilith sunk onto the cold wet ground of the alleyway. Her dress was probably a complete mess with all the blood but she could only care less.
Lilith sobbed, lifting a gloved hand to cover her mouth as her shoulders shook as she cried her heart out. She should be happy that the people wanting her dead had been dealt with for good. That she would be safe and be at peace now but no. She was not happy because it only meant that she will have to continue living in the pain of not having to see her husband anymore.
