Ah, March.
Springs around the corner and everything is (theoretically) starting to thaw out once again. Also everyone’s favorite Irish holiday is just around the corner! As an extra special treat to shake off the last of the winter blues the Arts department and the Film Studies department have put together a lovely weekend trip for all those students interested in broadening their horizons and cultural knowledge. Don’t ask me what museums, plays, galleries or art film houses have to do with green beer but that’s not going to stop some people from taking up the offer.
So let’s all be Irish! By which, we mean let’s all pretend that any students who are interested and filled out the magical fake paperwork (because we love you guys but we’re not about to make fake forms for you to fill out) have scored themselves transportation and shared group accommodations in a moderately priced hotel to spend the weekend (March 12th to 16th but we’ll also pretend it’s only a Friday to Sunday trip) in New York City.
Naturally, for the kids and professors (because every great trip needs chaperons/an excuse for teachers to do silly things too) who opt to stay home, there will be plenty of green beer and suddenly Irish spirit to keep everyone happy. And surely more than one Greek House will be having a kegger that weekend as well. So take in a play! See the Natural History Museum! Hit up the clubs! Shop with all your little heart until it drops! Get arrested for public intoxication! Just remember to be back for classes first thing Monday morning.
