The madhu burned going down, and like any fire, left you warm as it passed.

Balthier had learned this long ago, and hid a smile behind his glass as he watched Vaan learn for the first time. The heat warmed the boy's cheeks so that the pink showed even under the persistent desert tan. He took several deep breaths to try to cool himself, then tried to drown it in more madhu.

Balthier chuckled. That was always the second step. Next would probably be...

Oh, the fiddling with the clothing. Leave it to the desert-bred boy to skip ahead to that. Balthier couldn't hide his grin now, and not even Fran's slight ear-twitch could make him stop. The boy, normally a bit of a nuisance, was becoming a positively adorable drunk, and Balthier was going to have to protect him from himself.

And, as a pirate, he fully intended to make Vaan pay for that privilege.
