To: All Students of Hogwart's From: Professor Archie Williamson Re: Dueling Competition
For the last month or so we have been trying to arrange an old-fashioned dueling competition. I say old-fashioned because it used to be held annually between the major wizarding schools, but fell out of favor over the last twenty years or so. But it's back, and this year the competition will be hosted here at Hogwarts. Each school will be represented by their three best duelists. The school that wins will receive a trophy (of course) as well as smaller ones for each student on the team. Each student on the winning team will also receive a 40 galleon prize and an offer to attend a special dueling seminar for a week this summer with their local Ministry.
Any student currently a member of Hogwart's Dueling Club is eligible to compete. If you are not currently a member and wish to join, you will need to contact me.
The schools currently signed up to compete are: Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, Salem Witches Institute, and the Universidade de Mágica from Brazil.
The competition will be held during the week of January 12th-16th. Trials for the team will be held this Friday, with practices twice a week until the competition. Please sign up on the list outside my office if you wish to try out for the team.
I'm quite sure the Headmistress will have a few words for all of you regarding international school relations, as the date approaches. Just keep in mind that this is an opportunity to show the quality of our school and of our students. I will expect those students on my team to conduct themselves as befits a student of this school. |

Hufflepuff - 270 Ravenclaw - 110
It was a tight game, with both teams staying even in scoring throughout and very few fouls on either side. With the score at 120 to 110 (after over three hours of play) the Hufflepuff Seeker was finally able to catch the snitch and end the game. |
