 MARVEL616 is a Marvel-based game that started as a group psl and takes place in the MCU, but allows its players the total creative license to incorporate elements from the comics and, more specifically, the Earth-616 continuity. What does this mean for me? M616 aims to be an all-inclusive game and part of that entails not alienating Marvel fans simply because they aren't comics knowledgeable. With so many different storylines to pursue in the comics, it makes sense to keep the objective simple: follow the timeline of the movies, while still including television tie-ins, as well as personal preference material. Ultimately, this means that if you're a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — you'll do just fine! You do not need to worry about reading the comics or being comic savvy in relation to your character. With that being said, however, even as fans of the MCU... well, there are things we didn't like and we have taken it upon ourselves to alter. Consider this an ALTERNATE UNIVERSE game, if you will. premise. Timeline for the game begins post-Captain America: The Winter Soldier. There has been a small time jump of months, but not years. The story will center around how each individual Avenger, as well as other characters, are handling life in a world without SHIELD and post-Battle of New York - including the consequences these events have had on the civilians they hope to protect. During this time, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner will create Ultron, who will not immediately pose a threat but will grow to learn the weaknesses of those around him. The Ultron arc is expected to play as a slow burn and, thus, establish him as an actual threat as well as allow for character development and the exploration of relationships during this time.
