Storybook is a game very loosely based on The Big Over Easy and The Fourth Bear by Jasper Fforde. Reading is a small city in an Alternate Reality version of our current world. It is located in the state of California and is widely known as a tourist destination. Reading is also a hub for strange happenings and unexplained phenomena. Some of the city's attractions include actors performing popular rhymes and stories. There are two separate companies, Happily Inc and Storybook, that are Disney-like parks only to a much smaller scale. Detectives are treated like celebrities, and there is a Guild that likes to write stories about them in an Amazing Crime series. It's all a bit whimsical.
