It's been nearly six years since the Volturi came to Forks on the allegations that the Cullens created an immortal child, narrowly avoiding a catastrophic battle in the process. Aro led his army back to Volterra to regain the pride they had lost that day in the clearing while the Cullens and their witnesses relaxed and moved on with their lives.
