GIANT LEAP

Humans have always dreamt and dreamt big. For an entire millennia there were talks and dreams of what was out there - Life on other planets, new worlds to explore and the other fascinating mysteries about the wonders of space, but no one knew for sure.

Everyone wanted to know the answers of the universe.

On July 20th 1969 the very first human stepped onto the Moon's surface with the famous quote, "This is one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind". Yet, by the time the new century came around, it looked as if there would be no more advancement in space exploration and for a while the answers of space seemed too far for them to reach.

That was until the great discovery in the year 2019, when a group of scientists discovered a way to create and maintain artificial gravity, leading to the construction of a space station powered by this artificial gravity. Eventually, in the year 2035 the artificial gravity was successfully used in the construction of the first habitable city on the Moon and not long after that Mars.

The year is now 2353 and mankind has been in space for over three hundred years. In that time they have made many discoveries, a fair amount good and some not so. Humans have also managed to create many colonies outwith the Sol system and are now widely known across the galaxy.

A year ago when the galaxy thought they had found everything, humans discovered their first species of alien that had never been discovered before by anyone. That was the latest greatest achievement for mankind and they are not planning to stop there.

This is

X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. Welcome to Abercorn Manor

Abercorn Manor is located in Savannah, Georgia and is well-known as one of the most haunted houses in the world. Built in 1868 for General Benjamin J. Wilson, a veteran of the Civil War, it saw its first death when Wilson's wife succumbed to yellow fever. With her gone, Wilson was left to care for their daughter on his own. Legend says that in a moment of frustration, Wilson tied his daughter to a chair in front of a window and allowed her to starve to death as punishment for her fraternizing with friends he did not approve of. His own death followed soon after.

Fast forward to 2008, when brothers Liam and Chris Hemsworth decided to buy the house with the goal of turning it into a place of terror and entertainment. Within months, they had each room set up with themes, proper décor, and the best actors they could find. People flocked from around the country to be a part of the experience, whether as an audience member, a performer, or someone behind the scenes. Now, four years later, the brothers are gearing up for another successful season. The manor runs year-round except for in June, when all of the setting up takes place.

Enter YOU - a Danish prince, an old enchanter, a pious young nun or a lovestruck youth, a court jester, a Scottish king or a rude mechanical. The last memory YOU have is... well, it depends. Perhaps YOU died: suicide, execution, murther most foul. Or maybe YOU went to sleep, or stepped out of the room merely taking your exit (pursued by a bear). YOU have found yourself in a strange theater, awakening on stage and without any memory of how you came to be there. It is a foreign place but populated by others.
