Welcome to Asheville, North Carolina!

Asheville has been proclaimed to be a "New Age Mecca" as well as "the new freak capital of the US". Most people overlook these statements made by the media, because most of Asheville's residents live there because it was named one of the top seven places to live in the US, it's location in the mountains and surrounding areas is ideal, and life moves at a slower pace in the South.

Little do people know that the first two statements are true, and Asheville has been rumored to sport some serious supernatural activity.

For many years supernatural creatures of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds have been migrating to this city in the Blue Ridge Mountains. None of them can quite put their finger on why they are drawn there, but there is a pull that they just can't ignore. Perhaps it has something to do with the convergence of all these different supernaturals, or maybe something darker is brewing underneath the city of Asheville.

Miranda wasn't the first, last, or only cover-up the Alliance was involved in ...

When the crew of Serenity blew the lid on the Miranda Mistake, the Alliance was ... careful, for a little while. Late in 2519, they discovered how to rupture reality. They essentially punched holes through time and space through which they could draw residents of other planets, other realities, other times. Their initial work was clumsy, amateurish, but as time rolled on they got better. They could aim their holes more accurately, draw in specific figures for their experiments.

In 2520, rebel Independent troops gathered together to try to put a stop to the experiments the Alliance was performing. They didn't know about the compounds on Iota, the buildings scattered through Wolf Canyon, Devil's Divide, and Bearclaw Marsh ... but they knew about other things.

The Alliance's experiments were beginning to fray at the edges, to come undone, and it wouldn't be long before one of their plans backfired - or they pulled the wrong person from the wrong reality.

Beyond the Black is a panfandom game set in the Firefly/Serenity universe.

Game begins with 20 characters.

The gods have been given a second chance: Prove that they can rule over a city without destroying everything they come into contact with, without bringing forth chaos or using its residents as playthings, and they will be given back their thrones, their duties, their places on earth, in the sea and underneath it all.
