It was both a surprise and relief to Rei when she actually stood with his guidance, and that she did it so smoothly, as though she'd been perfectly aware of herself this entire time. The stones leading back to the bank were a little small though, so unconsciously he did lead her the rest of the way, and soon they were on land again without any issue.
"So you'll walk, but you won't talk," he said, bracing both of his hands on his lower back. He tried to assess her, as she remained standing, looking at him completely blankly, not really focusing on his face, but just staring dead ahead. It was a bit unnerving. He smiled despite himself that time, and said, "Listen, if this is some sort of game, I'm kind of lost with the rules. Maybe we could call a time-out, and you could inform me..." While he was saying that, his eyes still looking her over, he really noticed the crown for the first time. The way her bangs cascaded over it initially made him think it was some sort of headband, delicate looking thing that it was, but the wind had pushed aside her hair then, and he noticed the way the jewel in the center didn't seem to shine, but glowed. He squinted at it, wondering if it was a trick of the light, but when he was really paying attention to it, it definitely seemed like some kind of machinery. "Eh...? What's this...?" He hadn't met any harm, when he'd started to reach out towards it curiously.
Because Terra's face reflected no consciousness at all, he wouldn't of been tipped off by any change on it that someone had been approaching him from behind. It surprised him when suddenly, he had his wrist seized--roughly. In his ear, a voice coldly instructed: "Don't. Touch it." Rei's eyes widened slightly, hearing this, before the look on his face turned firm again. He turned his head a little, to see who'd grabbed him, who ordered him, and though a short moment of confusion overcame him to see the intimidating character in profile-- pale skin, scarred face, and apparently missing an eye on the side closest to his own face-- it didn't shake him. "...Don't touch me," Rei cooly returned with his own condition, and pulled his hand free of the man's grasp then; he didn't have to be too forceful about it though, since he'd been let to do so. Rei was about to say something more to the stranger, when for a brief second his eyes looked past him, and he finally saw someone he did know.
