For a girl who lived inside of her own head and had learned that there were very, very few people she could trust in the world, Terra found herself wanting to believe that the strange boy who spoke unfamiliar words, would really come back. Fifteen minutes felt like an eternity as she waited on that rock, and she had slowly began resigning herself to what felt like an inevitable fate when he returned -- something that was a shock in and of itself.
Hey, are you American? It caught her off guard when he suddenly spoke in a language she did understand and Terra felt a rush of relief and then frustration. If only she could answer him, to return the blinks that he jokingly asked of her, so that he could know that she did want to leave with him and go wherever it was that she might reunite with the people from her world. That was a strange feeling in itself, wanting to go back to a place where she was treated like an object, but at least it was familiar where this was all unknown.
She was grateful when he touched her arm and her body responded rather easily to being lifted to her feet. Though the crown kept her under control, it was one of Gestahl's fears that she could be moved easily like this, and was one of the reasons why he kept her so carefully guarded in her chambers. Unlike moving a limp body, Terra's form was relatively graceful like this, and when he helped her cross the rest of the river it was a smooth process. The girl remained standing on the opposite bank then, facing him with an unchanging expression, but at least now she hoped he might realize that if guided, she would follow him to the next town.
