Terra thought of Setzer next, and a different feeling came over her entirely. What happened to you? It was no secret that he was the least favorite of the Emperor, kept only for his fleet, and for the fact he was most often the one available for repairs on the magitek. Will they blame my disappearance on you? She worried then, less about Edgar, whom she could care less about, but for the man who acted as her savior in that world. Though she questioned how she felt about him, there was no doubt that without him she would die here. He had been the only one, after all, brave enough to remove her crown -- he was the only one in the whole of Vector who knew she was a woman and not a mindless robot.
She had been so engrossed in her worries that the voice calling out to her was another human, but as the man approached it filled her with an assortment of different feelings. When had been the last time someone other than Setzer or Locke spoke to her like she was an equal? She was unable to replay, and was forced to stare blankly ahead, but inside her thoughts raced. Confusion, at first, over his strange appearance and language, things she had never seen or heard before, and then surprise at his personality. Instead of fearing and avoiding her as so many soldiers did, he approached her easily, and though she didn’t understand what he was trying to say, it was like he was truly trying to speak to her.
Had she been able to, Terra would have called out to him in her own language, to give him some sign that she was alive and to not be left behind, but as things were she sat on her knees, staring aimlessly ahead while inside she screamed, wanting to cue him in on her situation, to notice her, and to not leave her behind. She wasn’t aware that she should be afraid of whatever place she found herself, but she was driven forward by the knowledge that she did not want to die here. She had to wait and see them both again, to make sure they were safe.
