Gestahl was the type of man who surrounded himself with vast amounts of power, commanding powerful armies and even more powerful generals, though he lacked any of their ability himself. A sick and twisted man, many of the battles were waged just to flex his army's muscle, and under the advisement of the top general, he overpowered the minor resistance with massive force. Very much a man who enjoyed playing with his toys, it was no wonder that when the orders to attack Aldoor came, he assigned Terra to the front lines. Though it would take several hours to prepare and transport her, it filled him with grim satisfaction that there would be nothing but a wasteland left of that small town when she was through.
With Celes and Setzer already fighting, the job of commanding her had been given to Edgar, and when the transport signaled, he brought her to the massive airship that would carry them to the camp. Though this form of transportation was much faster than walking, it would still take several hours to reach their destination, and during that time Terra had felt herself drifting off to sleep. Under the influence of the slave crown, there was little she could do to pass the time otherwise, and she dreaded having to wait. Unlike the others, she took no pleasure in the bloodshed, and she longed for the day it would be over. She listened for a short time as Edgar spoke to the soldiers assigned to their unit, and she wondered how badly Gestahl wanted this victory to send nearly all the force from Vector, before her eyes closed and she entered a state of rest.
The young blond was unsure of how much time had passed before she awoke, the fresh scent of water and wind more fragrant than any expensive oil. She had been shocked to realize that, not only was she alone, but in a place she had never seen before. Even the colors of the landscape were entirely different from anything she had ever seen in Vector, and the river that rushed by her filled her with a sense of awe. For a moment she thought she was dreaming, realizing that this was the kind of place that Locke had described to her all those years ago, but there was a feeling of dread that soon followed.
There's no one here. Though her face was perfectly emotionless, Terra felt a chill crawl up her spine as she realized that if no one from Vector came to claim her, that she would die here. It had been luck, Terra noticed soon after, that she hadn't landed in the water where she surely would have drowned, unable to move. Unable to leave her spot, or even turn to look around, Terra watched as the sky changed colors: from early morning and then to late afternoon, and as the hours passed, so did her hope of being recovered. Locke, she remembered the promise he had made that he would take her away from the palace, that when they escaped they would always be together, and she worried that he might come to look for her, not knowing that she was no longer in the empire.
