The look on Setzer's face narrowed when she spoke to him in a way which more obviously suggested that his language did not much make sense to her. He would of thought that was just the fear, had what she next not been so mismatched. And that only confused things a great deal more than they'd been, seeing that he knew of no other languages existing in the world in it's current period. At that point, he'd stopped approaching her, and it was rather her who took the next step forward. He looked at her.
"You're lost," Setzer said, eyeing her when he summarized what she was trying to phrase, and that seemed to be correct, a word she knew too. The way he was looking at her how he was, was mostly because he was trying to decide if she was lying or not. Naturally, he trusted no one. The closest thing he had to trust was with Edgar and with Terra, and even that would probably never be described as absolute and complete. But he really couldn't imagine this petrified, wide-eyed girl was really responsible for somehow physically displacing him... and looking at her face right then, he remembered another. Looking over his shoulder, he temporarily appeared to forget her, looking around to see if there really was anyone else. He wondered if the others were here, wherever here was. Not that he particularly wanted them to be-- in fact it was probably better for everyone if they weren't-- but the thought went through his head. He heard no sounds at all though, subtract for the occasional chirping of birds, strange sound as that was, to his ears.
"Have you seen anyone else?" he asked her, his tone losing some of it's rigidity from before. Even in the bizarreness of the situation, that ill-fitting, casual air returned to Setzer. He never panicked, and there was nothing to be angry about, so, somewhat at a loss right now, he addressed the stranger relatively informally. When she didn't answer though, and he looked back and saw she hadn't understood, he frowned. As if things hadn't been made difficult enough. He adjusted the rim of his hat, as he thought how to rephrase that, so that she would...understand? "Are you alone?"
