The setting sun was shining the last flickers of light through the crimson curtains and onto the antique dark mahogany wood. Bella reclined in the room unburned by the grandeur or the ending of the day. Her eyes that were almost black enough to be described as charcoal stared down at the aged red wine which she idly swirled in the glass. Slumped back into the couch, she rested her arm against the wooden border and resisted the urge to glance at her cherished mark. Despite her desire for it to burn and for her to be summoned to complete her Lord's noble work, it would not offer her any respite tonight. It was a pity. It was not only the sight of her Master's tall thin frame that would have filled her with pleasure. Withdrawing her wand and watching filth bleed and beg before her could bring her nothing less than joy.

Just not tonight.

Even though she was the only one in the vicinity, she sighed dramatically and swung her feet back onto the ground. Standing her height was impressive for her gender as she swept from the room with a peculiar swagger as she sought out another form of entertainment. Her husband could be many things; occasionally irritating, but also a cure from her boredom depending on how he behaved. He was at least better than switching on the wireless and listening to gossip that would sound like the dribble that could escape her sister or mother’s mouths.

Stepping out into the beautiful wood panelled hallway, she strode in the direction of his study hoping he was there. She did not think her desire to see her husband could withstand more than a brief search.

Passing by the elaborate hallways without displaying any interest at the impressive architecture and design, she stopped when she finally reached her destination. Someone who was more polite or proper might have knocked on the door before entering, but, when it was only Rodolphus hidden in the room, such thoughts did not even enter her mind. Instead she only turned the handle of the door and pushed it open. She was rewarded by the sight of her husband. Positioned behind his desk and the paperwork that was no doubt dull and pointless, her lips twisted upwards in what could be considered a slight smile. However, it was only as a result of victory in her quest rather than affection a wife would normally display once she found her husband.

Striding over to his desk she did not offer any manner of greeting but glanced down at the letter he had finished writing. "Saying no to another of Parkinson's balls?" she inquired with a raised eyebrow as she shoved some paper work out of the way of his desk and hoisted herself up onto the mahogany surface without a care in the world. "She will be so disappointed. Too bad I don’t care."
