It really had been much too long since Alice had seen Gideon outside of Order related events. She liked him and considered him a friend, even if the one and only date she had went with him had been highly awkward. Plus while the journals were good for communication, there was nothing quite like face-to-face conversations.

Her morning had been spent shopping in Hogsmeade and then Diagon Alley with a babbling Neville in tow. Having made arrangements for the books she purchased at Obscurus Books to be delivered to her house in Nottingham, she made her way to Gringotts. Her son's reactions to the goblins never failed to make Alice grin, even though she did her best to make sure that Neville remained as respectful as a ten month old could be to the goblins. Her purse refilled with money, Alice and Neville then proceeded to head to St. Mungo's.

In the reception area, Tyler was waiting, sprawled out in a chair. He stood up upon seeing his sister and nephew. There were a few tears (mostly on Neville's part) but Tyler and Neville left to spend the afternoon together, after Tyler repeatedly promising Alice to contact her immediately if anything happened and with a list sticking out of his back pocket.

After getting lost then getting accused of trying to make off with vital files by an impertinent mediwizard before he realized that Alice wasn't and who exactly she was, it was a slightly flustered Alice that knocked on the R&D lab door.

Gideon's morning had been spent in a slightly different way. He had come into work that day with one goal: to finish brewing the antidote to the concoction that he and Sorin Yaxley had inhaled the day before. It was the fumes from that experimental potion that had bound Sorin and Gideon together for the better half of the last 24 hours. It was awkward to say the least and both men were ready to have their freedom back. However, that whole process wasn't going as smoothly as they had hoped and by lunch time, Gideon was not yet freed from Sorin.

There wasn't enough time to explain to Alice or to try to owl her to reschedule. And Gideon certainly wasn't standing her up. So he had decided one thing. He would simply make Sorin come along. There really wasn't much of a choice. They could only go so far from each other. But cooperation made things a bit easier.

When Alice arrived, Gideon and Sorin where in the office area of the lab. Gideon had been anticipating her arrival and thought it best that they be ready to go rather than having to finish up and put away ingredients and get out of their lab robes. So he had them doing paperwork while some of the others continued brewing up the antidote for them.

Forgetting for a moment that he was attached to Sorin and on a short leash, Gideon got up to greet Alice as soon as she came through the door. It had been an awfully long time since they had spent time together and they really did need to catch up. "Alice!" he exclaimed and jumped up. He was heading swiftly towards her until he got about three feet away and jolted to a stop as if he had hit and invisible wall or if he was actually on a leash that someone tugged quickly. Nearly tripping because of the fast pace he was walking combined with the magic that was restraining him, Gideon stumbled a bit until he gained his footing back.

"Alice. You're not going to believe what we've gotten ourselves into, over here," he sighed and waited for his friend to come to him.

After having been ushered in by a Healer with a rather interesting splash of colors all over his robes, Alice grinned at Gideon when he came over to greet her. Stepping forward a step, her arm outstretched with the intention of trying to break his fall if Gideon did fall, she withdrew it when he regained his foot.

"Uh oh, that doesn't sound good." Alice said. "What did you do to yourself now, Gideon?" She took a step closer to him. "But you are all right, aren't you? Because we can always reschedule if need be." She gave him a long look over, waiting for him to answer her.
