Who: Andromeda Tonks and Alice Longbottom
What: Supper and a chat
Where: The Leaky Cauldron
When: Backdated. June 5th, Six o'clock-ish
Status: Incomplete/Closed
Rating: PG

Alice had hoped that she would have been able to get out of work early today to do some shopping in Diagon Alley. But once she had gotten to work that morning, a completely full to overflowing inbox had greeted her and all thoughts of leaving early were completely destroyed. It looked like Thursday was going to be her only day to visit there. Plus to further irritate Alice, the newly assigned intern in the Auror department had been humming Celestina Warbeck all day. Alice hadn't been the biggest fan of Celestina to begin with and now thanks to the intern, it seemed like Celestina's entire repertoire of songs was stuck in Alice's head. Nothing she did was working to get the songs unstuck in her head. Hopefully supper with Andromeda would do the trick.

Finally signing the last of her paperwork with an (unnecessary) flourish, Alice dropped it in her outgoing box, waved good bye to Frank - who was heading into a meeting with the head of the Auror Department and Crouch, her poor husband - and made her way down to the Floo connected fireplaces in the Ministry atrium. Some moments later, she was stepping into Diagon Alley and making her way to the Leaky Cauldron.

Not seeing Andromeda in the main room, Alice stopped to say ‘hello’ to Tom (he always had the best gossip and bits of news floating around), and then made her way to an empty table that afforded Alice a view of the entire room.

Andromeda had gone straight to Dora's school as soon as she'd gotten out of work. Her shift today had seemed to drag on more than usual so knowing she had a dinner planned with Alice was what kept her going. Her daughter had chosen to go with flame red hair today and Andromeda had to laugh at the little girl's uniqueness. She wasn't quite sure where the ability to change her appearance had come from but Andy was proud to have such a special daughter.

She stopped home briefly to pass Dora off to her husband. Ted was amazing and never complained when she wanted to night to herself. (Plus, he owed her from the last time he'd gone out with his mates and had come home at 3am and pissed out of his mind. Andy was still laughing about that one.) She changed out of her healer robes and into a pair of jeans and a blouse. Kissing her husband and daughter goodbye, Andromeda apparated to Diagon Alley.

Andromeda made her way to The Leaky Cauldron. It only took her a moment to spot her friend after stepping inside. She waved as she made her way over, sitting down in the chair across from Alice.

"This was a brilliant idea. Its nice to have grown-up time for a change."

Alice returned the wave as Andromeda made her way over to the table where she was sitting. Taking the moment to stretch her feet as Andromeda sat down across the table, Alice grinned at Andromeda's greeting.

"As I told you, Merlin knows I love my boys but some adult female only company was definitely needed." Waving her hand at the menu posted on the wall behind and down a way from her, Alice asked "So we can eat here or we can go into Diagon Alley for something fancier?"
