Account codes are now required on InsaneJournal. They can be given as gifts from existing accounts (http://www.insanejournal.com/invite/) or you can purchase one by buying a paid account for an email address (which will allow you to create an account AND become a paid member).

If you want to generate new account codes, visit http://www.insanejournal.com/invite/ . Please report any bugs with the invite code system ASAP and we will resolve them asap.

  I find it awesome that you turned on the invite codes to deal with spamming!
  
  I do have a question though about invite codes. For the users that have had purchased paid time in the pasted, will they be able to generate more than one could or is that paid time not accounted for?

    It's accounted for. I have accounts that have lapsed on paid status, but I was able to generate codes for any paid time that was on them in the past.

      Is it the same with perm accounts too? I haven't got a chance to check it yet

        Yup! You get 'em for any paid time that was on there before upgrading to perm.
