  If nothing else, I feel like there should be a group of spam-thwackers monitoring the newest-created journals. I'm an admin at a forum that gets a lot of spam, and at least once a day I look at the newest accounts and prune out the obvious spambots.

    We are fully aware of the massive spam problem. Currently we have no way to combat it. However we are working to replace the current captcha system with a more robust one that will not be so easy for the bots to circumvent.

      That's good to hear. I hope it works out.
      
      One thing I've noticed is there doesn't seem to be a way to report spambots to you guys. On LJ, there's a "report a bot" page, but IJ doesn't seem to have anything like that. Also, do you have an anti-spam team people can volunteer for?

        The problem is that bots can register so easily that you'd be deleting 10 accounts while 20 more were created
