We have been performing database maintenance all day on InsaneJournal. This is now completed. We are hoping that this will help resolve the performance issues we have been seeing in the evenings.

If you have been trying to access IJ and did not know why it was down then you should "Like" us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter so you can get notices when the site is inaccessable.

  Every night for at least the past week I've had issues with IJ not loading at all, refusing to load icons and the captcha, and generally being painfully slow always at around 9 PM EST. It's like clockwork. Is there any reason for this?

    Have you tried it at a friend's house or anything? I'm not disputing that there's slowness, but I haven't personally had any slowness at 9PM EST, so I'm just curious.

      No, but everyone I'm chatting with online when it happens are experiencing it as well.
