We are doing work on the userpic/captcha server. We are aware there are some issues, we hope to have the problem fixed shortly.

    Just a heads up that anyone using YAHOO MAIL, is either delkayed in getting notifs, or they don't come at all.

    Not just yahoo with the problem... this is night #2 of no notifications. The ones that do come through are WAY delayed. I use gmail.

      There is no such thing as comment rot anymore. You must have checked an entry that was before 2009, in which case the comments were already long gone.

      Are you looking at entries from before 2009? Because those comments are long gone from a previous bug, even if the comment count makes you think they're there.

        I was around for the last lot of comment rot (and lost a lot of comments from it too), and reset the icons on the posts that got hit. Now one of my posts looks like it got hit again, and I know it hadn't been before.

          What date is it? If it's pre-2009, my point stands, because it's entirely possible it slipped under the wire.

    the site runs horribly at night for the last week or so; if it even loads it takes forever but loading is rare itself. notifications don't come in for hours and then there's a flood of them in the morning. icons are broken, you can't upload new ones. and it's not just once in awhile it's been every night. is anything going to be fixed? or even addressed?

      correction, it's running horribly this morning too including giving constant error messages when trying to post comments. this is getting really frustrating especially for people who have paid money into the site as recently as a week ago

    I had a 500 server error about two days ago that lasted for about 10 minutes. That's when I started to notice the lag and the delay in comment notification emails for myself. Also, if the comment posted page doesn't load and you hit back, sometimes, it double posts the comment. However, I think you can see examples of that right on this post, since it looks like there's a few duplicates.

      No it is not happening again. That was related to a very specific bug in the code that has been removed.

          Oh, okay! I think that's what's going on – I've gone back to entries from 2008 that list 400 comments, then clicked on them and the comments disappear. Squeaky has said that that's because the comments had already been lost 2 years ago, even though the comment count didn't reflect that.

    Is this problem still ongoing? Because I've been told that people trying to apply/reserve at my game are not having captcha images show up, and userpics are timing out.
