Site Move Coming

Previous Entry Add to Memories Tell a Friend Next Entry
Over the next couple of days we are going to be moving InsaneJournal into our new home. This new home should provide us with more speed and less downtime. As well as provide us with lower costs. In the next 3-6 months we are going to do an analysis of costs vs. income and restructure our pricing model here.

Please let everyone you know to follow InsaneJournal on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/insanejournal) as this is where we will be posting live status updates as we take parts or the whole site down to move it.

Thank you for your patience in this.
  • Does it matter whether you're logged in or not?
    • it's working right now so i couldn't really tell you, but if i remember correctly, i don't think it matters any. i've had other people try and it seems to work just fine for everyone else.
      • Have you upgraded to the most recent version of Firefox? IIRC, there were some version issues on the older ones. I have 3.0.7 Also, check your password file. Be sure you delete the IJ password. It could be corrupt.
        • i have firefox 3.0.11, so yeah :( how would i go about checking my password file/deleting the ij password? i can still get to my journal for now, but i'm confused as to why it happened in the first place since it seems really random when it happens and doesn't happen.
          • tools>options>security center area has "passwords" Click "saved passwords" and ask it to show site passwords. Highlight IJ, and delete it.
Then, back on the options screen, click "exceptions" be sure IJ is NOT on there.

If it keeps acting up, add IJ in there, and see if manually adding your password each time fixes it.

Be sure you reboot firefox after each delete/save. Oh, and your history and cookies delete, too.

You might also want to report this to bugzilla as a problem. Because I don't think it's Squeaky, I think it's FF. Just saw this go past on the XFiles list I am on. http://www.bugzilla.mozilla.com/ there are a couple of other journal issues, but not quite yours.

            • Ignore that spaz line about the XFiles list. LOL! That's what I get for cut and paste jobs. :-/
            • yeah that's definitely not it because i never save any of my ij passwords so ij's not even on the list, haha. i deleted my history and cookies when the problem started and at first it didn't help, then it did, then it didn't...and it's been working fine since last night, so hopefully it'll keep working. it's just weird because it's just me. it works fine for everyone else, it seems. i'll definitely report it though if it starts being an issue again. thank you for your help!
          • Did you check with your internet provider for DNS issues?
