Over the next couple of days we are going to be moving InsaneJournal into our new home. This new home should provide us with more speed and less downtime. As well as provide us with lower costs. In the next 3-6 months we are going to do an analysis of costs vs. income and restructure our pricing model here.

Please let everyone you know to follow InsaneJournal on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/insanejournal) as this is where we will be posting live status updates as we take parts or the whole site down to move it.

    I love that you keep us all in the loop when things are going on with the site. It makes it so much easier to deal with things like downtime when we have a clue as to what's happening. Thank you so much for that, and thank you for doing the fantastic job that you do.

    thank you so much Squeeky for keeping us up to date with site stuff on Twitter. I see the site down and go look at my twitter and can keep calm, because you're already on the ball :) You are awesome, and the reason I keep supporting this site through purchasing paid accounts :)

    hey squeaky. i have a quick question and if anybody could provide me with any sort of answer i'd be really grateful. for some reason, even when all other journals on the site work just fine (and mine seems to work just fine for other people) when i try to go to alistair.insanejournal.com (or insanejournal.com/users/alistair which redirects to alistair.insanejournal.com...plus /friends/ and /profile/) i get a "Firefox can't find the server at alistair.insanejournal.com." error. i've cleared my history and stuff, restarted firefox, etc etc but it's still doing it and i can't figure out any reason why. any idea what might be going on here?

    FYI, I haven't received e-mail notifications since around 8 or 9 p.m. EST. They don't show up on the Notifications/ Inbox page either.

    Dear Squeaky,

    Twitter is nice and all, but some of us still check announcements first and known issues for updates on what's happening on the site. Maybe announcements should begin to show updates from the twitter account so people (like myself) don't open support tickets for stuff that's in the middle of being fixed.

    your twitter says the userpic feature is back up but whenever i try to upload an icon i get this:

    i didn't realize this was going on and bought a rename around 5-ish, will my rename delivery just be delayed or will i have to purchase another one once this is finished?

    I bought a rename and still haven't recieved it but I got the receipt over an hour ago. Could this have anything to do with the move?

    It was slow at 19h00 EDT, but based on your message in this thread about forcing all traffic to new servers, I flushed my NAMED DNS server's cache, and flushed my cache at my windows workstation, then tried again, and:

    the only problems i've encountered so far is that i'm not getting notifs on my own journal entries, but everywhere else seems to be fine.

    I bought a rename four hours ago and I went to submit a ticket because I still haven't gotten it and i'm getting this error:

    Does this move involve the captchas not working? I've been trying to create an account for awhile now and it won't work on any browser that I try it on.

    it appears comment rot has returned. i was going through old rp entries and at least four posts had comments cleared when i clicked on them.

    No notifications here, either, on any of my journals save for one.
