New Ad Layouts

I have updated the ad layouts to try to make the site easier on the eyes. This is work that I had completed some time ago but never rolled live. I decided that you guys deserved something out of me so since this wasn't going to take additional time I have rolled it out.

Right now what you will notice is that there are ads on your profile page and entry pages. If you have a paid account you will not see ads at all on the site while you are logged in.

Now for an extra bonus, if you are paid, nobody will see ads on your profile page or your entry pages. There will still be ads on other parts of the site as soon as I have time to write the code to add them in.

We are aware that the large square ad on the right side of the profile messes with the layout. We are going to look into a way of fixing that as soon as possible.

I have moved the second ad on the profile page from a square ad on the right to a leaderboard below "Account type" This should resolve formatting issues some were seeing.

  the ads at the top of the page really mess up the layout on the "new tweak" viewing option. i like that we're able to still use "new tweak" because for me, it's much easier to browse. but because of the top ads, everything is spaced out awkwardly.

      oh i didn't realize it messed up the layout on other site schemes too, that's terrible

      Thanks, I'll look into it. It may take me a day or two though. If I can't get to it, we might just roll back the ads to the way they were.

        i think that rolling it back would be a better idea tbh and maybe for a new addition to the site you could give up the choice to remove people like we could on GJ, like remove them completely without banning, that'd be really cool.

        yes I really hope you roll them back to the way they were. I understand the need for ads but they looked fine before.

        i really appreciate all the work you are doing to try and improve the site. i personally like how the ads look on the journal entries a lot better now than before. if you roll any ads back to how they were, maybe just do the profile ones? either way, it's refreshing to have someone running the site who's attempting to do anything to improve it!

        My only problem with ads the way they were before was on comment pages in Firefox they made it so I had to scroll left and right to read the threads at the top. It might have to do with my huge resolution but it was annoying. This way is better. The big block ad on UIs now is messing with this profile on IE as it makes the friends journal links lay over the block ad on the right. :/ Would there be a way to put an ad at the top and the bottom the way you have done on comment pages? That way it won't mess things up between them.
