About the Ads
Due to the overwhelming load of bad ads that the other ad companies have been delivering to us, I have reverted the site back to using only google ads. While not having the diversity of multiple ad companies might hurt us in the short term, I am worried about that harm that the pop-ups, redirects, and other bad things that the other ad companies have been doing will affect us worse in the long term.

If I can put in my two cents, PLEASE OH GOD NO MORE IMVU. Those flashing ads are everywhere. Of course I have a paid journal, so I don't suffer from them anymore... Just thinking of my fellow blogger here.

I agree wholeheartedly. Those horrid things made IJ look like a hotbed of doll porn. They were disgusting -- and judging from my own experience, I think they were a large part of the spyware/worm problem.

The IMVU crap is back, and so are a bunch of others. He didn't get rid of the damn things, they're still around to infect people's computers. Should've known the bottom $$$ line would win out over the safety of the users' comps.

Actually, no I haven't put anything back, those ads are being delivered by google, and google is not allowing and of the malware to come through.

If you look all of the ads say "ads by google" at the bottom.

I've seen a few that don't say "ads by google" at the bottom.

Though unfortunately the one that disturbs me the most does have that at the bottom, the "talk with single arab women" one.

However, I think the virus/spyware ones were the most worrying, so thank you for removing them and caring about your users.

No they don't. There's a lot that don't say they're ads by Google, and that makes me believe they AREN'T from Google, which is keeping me off the site a good 99% of the time. I hate to have to find another blogging site, but since it's looking more and more like the harmful stuff will still be here, I don't want to have my comp infected again. I've already had to spend $80 to have the crap IJ put on it taken off, and I'm not dealing with that again.

Actually it turns out that google has started allowing some 3rd party ads through their network. These ads wont have the "Ads by Google" tag on the bottom, but they are held to the same high standards.
