Elthina was close to that for me. She tried to help me escape the life my parents "sold" me into (religious order, not anything like slavery, but an endowment did change hands and I didn't want it) , at first, and when I chose to stay, embraced it and took an interest in me.
We'd have tea sometimes, and she was the one there when my country went to hell and my family was lost to me. I think we all need someone like that to go to with things.
