I think you can. But beyond what's happened to Jacob...there were many murders, at the time, from what I've read, and what he's told me. Several of his assassins and the man took his gang. And Jacob had raised him. That last part seems to bother him most, both that it happened, and that he couldn't save him.
He blames himself for that, I think, the way that we all have something we blame ourselves for.
Swearing you to secrecy, but he does like the pipe shaped kind. Or all-sorts are still around, I think.
