Right. It sounds like it was harder for Ian at...he grew up in a really tough neighborhood and he's in some kind of army training program...I'm not American. I don't quite GET ROTC but I THINK it means they're able to get scholarships if they serve or...something. But it doesn't sound like the sort of environment you easily work out that you're gay in. He was worried about me finding it out too, thinking about when we met and the first few days he was home.
That's true, playing it easy and slow seems like it may be a good way to go.
