Having the house to herself meant that Bonnie could practice her magic in peace without Damon hovering around her and asking her questions. Not that she minded him asking her about the powers she had, sometimes she needed her own space to do her magic without the prying eyes of anyone. And since Damon was off teaching the vampires the boundaries of their limitations and other things, Bonnie remained at home to practice her magic in the room that Damon had built for her. Books lay on the floor in front of her, while other objects like pens, papers and some books floated around her. While they floated, the dark haired witch wrote in her own spell book of things she was learning about her family. She had found some books on the Bennett line since arriving so it was a shock to discover this. Thirty minutes later, the objects drifted to the floor with a gentle thump. The sun was just beginning to set, putting a heavenly glow in the room. Suddenly she got an idea.
Leaving the room after she put things away, she walked down the stairs to the wine cellar, she grabbed one of the oldest bottles of bourbon that that was in there, and carried it up the stairs with her. Setting it on the table, she went ahead and got things set for a surprise dinner. She knew that Damon didn't eat, but could when the mood struck him. Soon the house was alive with the smells of southern cooking. Her grams not only taught her the ways of being a witch, but she also taught her how to cook southern style. It had been a few years since she had made some of her grandmothers favorites and was eager for Damon to try it and be surprised. She even had a fire going to create a romantic ambience. She hummed to herself as she cooked, and soon had food served onto plates when she heard the front door open.
