Email: Current Brotherhood Senior membership and Allies (NO APPRENTICES)
The Sherr business has me thinking. We put too much on initiations and not on what is to follow.
My proposal: We still will celebrate our new arrivals but we ALSO will emphasize the fact that the training period is one in which anything can happen. More challenges, more tests of character, more support. We'll rely more on the training cohorts instead of simply focusing on one apprentice and one teacher. And on the group itself.
There will be tests, celebrations of achievement and benchmarks to meet along the way. No more letting an apprentice slip through the cracks. No more easing the way in terms of anything.
While we are at it: Not every person in this group is physically inclined and many would be involved who still have gifts to share. Some have been better than those initiated, in the end.
Proposal: We stop requiring the one size fits all approach to those who join here in terms of missions and physical work. Not everyone is suited for fieldwork and we should stop punishing those who are not. Other benchmarks can be put into place.
Initiation will take place next week, on June 1st at Midnight.
We have a promising apprentice, with special circumstances, that we are sharing with Grandmaster Kenway, who is in need of training here. If you would like to take Five on, please let me know.
Apprentice Training and Cohorts (Do NOT share this)
We've Jacob's cohorts set up and not used them for much. After our newest initiates join us at the start of June, we will be having our first coordinated training activity. We'll be placing them into their cohort groups, dropping them in a strange location and asking them to rely on each other to find their way to one of us and relative safety. It's a good challenge.
We are also looking for those of you willing to assist us in setting up the cellars of our new headquarters as a maze of sorts for both the initiation, AND to be used amongst your apprentices already here at your discretion. It will be similar to our escape rooms but bigger and grander and better and we're off to a good start already. It's on track for next week, at any rate.
I appreciate your continued support of this brotherhood and your dedication to our group. Thank you for your service.
-Shaun Hastings, Mentor.
