He sat there, watching hearts as they glittered up to become one with Kingdom Hearts. They looked like stars twinkling in the distance. Somewhere in that mass of shiny pink glitter, was a heart for him. Wasn’t there?
That’s what Xemnas led them to believe, at least. Axel wasn’t so sure the silver haired leader’s intentions were as pure as they seemed. There was something fishy about this entire situation, and he found himself deep in thought over it many a night.
Would they ever be whole? Did he really want to be? Sure, he missed emotions and simple pleasures. He missed being somebody… but was it really worth it?
Whatever Xemnas was planning, he needed disposable minions. The fiasco in Castle Oblivion had proven this much to be true. Axel had been the only member to escape that hell alive, and now he found himself wondering, was he really alive at all?
He’d told Sora that nobodies didn’t die, but did he really believe that himself? A sigh escaped his lips as he counted a new wave of distant twinkles floating upwards in the twilit sky.
