Enclosed : Composition book of notes and instructions and steps for research sake of eavesdropping hex, hexed receiver to test out charm
Lily,
Thank you so much for the birthday cupcakes, I seriously haven't had a good cupcake in years.
Sorry to take this long getting back to you, and hopefully it's not too late, but I enclosed my notebook I used when trying to work out the kinks in the eavesdropping charm. It's graduated up from the hex that was my idea, so no buzzing in the ears! That should help in trying to improve on what I did, which I know you can - everything's in working order except the time it takes to keep the charm holding. Still an hour, so I know that's where you can perfect it. Hopefully you can read through the scribbled notes and see where I went wrong.
I had a lot of time to work on it after Hogsmeade, and I didn't want to bother you with the baby and James and all. If you need help, just let me know, I tried to include everything I worked on for it.
The ugly silver dish (I don't even know what it's used for) is charmed so you can listen into what I'm saying when you get this owl, so on page 86 you'll find the activation incantation, and it'll last an hour. Good luck, though I know you won't need it - you're the brains behind this operation.
Thank you so much again,
-- Doc
