Answers: Mary MacDonald 1. Please state your full name and occupation. Mary Seonag MacDonald, Magical Law Enforcement Squad. Hitwitch, specifically.
2. Please state your birthdate and age. 28, February. I'm 21.
3. Where do you currently reside? In Muggle London. Bloomsbury Square in Camden Town.
4. How long have you been working within the DMLE? Since I got out of Hogwarts. So, um, just over three years.
5. Why did you originally apply to be an Auror/Hitwizard? Do those convictions still hold true? Well, first, my brother Keir's on the Squad, so law enforcement is in the family. But more importantly, when I was in Hogwarts - I got attacked. Dark arts, too. And instead of, y'know, becoming a withdrawn and scared thing, I decided I wanted to fight that kind of behaviour. I wanted to save other people from the same thing I'd suffered. Or at least give them the justice they deserve, y'know?
6. Are you or have you previously been affiliated with organizations outside of the Ministry of Magic? No? Oh, sorry, I didn't mean that as a question - I just... who else would I be affiliated with? I'm a Ministry girl, through and through. The only other loyalty I have is to my family, but I don't think that's what you're asking. So. Yeah.
7. What do you feel is not being done by the DMLE to put an end to the current state of war? Please answer honestly. I don't know. It's tough. We're not an army, you know? So things an army could do, that sometimes I wish we could do... they're not available to us. Because you know, we have to follow laws and rules and regulations. Which is all good and what keeps some people within the department from abusing the power we do have. We also don't have unlimited resources at our fingertips, so that's another problem. But I guess that's not really answering your question... Um, I think the DMLE needs to use the resources that we do have to it's fullest, and I'm not certain we're doing that.
8. Conversely, what do you feel is being done by the DMLE to successfully put an end to the current state of war? I guess not enough. I feel like my hands are tied a lot of times, because I'm not allowed to investigate suspicious activities without a call for help or an official report placed on my or my partner's desk first. However, I think we're doing everything we've been trained to do. Maybe we need more training, I dunno.
9. Do you have faith in the government's promise to put an end to terrorism in the United Kingdom? Why or why not? Well, of course. That's what we're here for. No one else is going to do it - and if they tried, wouldn't they just be considered terrorists as well?
10. Finally, please briefly describe for us your typical workday routine. Well, truthfully, the beauty of my job is that it's not a constant. Things are always changing and there's always something different going on. However... um, I guess a typical day would start with paperwork, unless I'm put on a case. I also help out with hand-to-hand combat training with the Hitwizard trainees - I'm skilled in that area and it's good for the male trainees to learn not to underestimate even the smallest of persons. Then there's lunch, if I have time, and then I'm out in the field on patrols and following leads or doing followups on open cases. Then it's back to the office for more paperwork... Overall, I think I'm here from about 7 in the morning until 6 or 7 at night.
