Who Sirius and Remus Lily hadn't been exaggerating when she'd said Harry was fussy, and Sirius was already looking minorly harassed by the time Remus arrived, a teary-eyed Harry in his arms. He'd thought about attempting to put him down for a nap, but every time he tried Harry just wailed louder, and at least now he was down to more hicupping than actual crying, and how did James and Lily do this again? "Shit," Remus swore, then winced as he realised he shouldn't have done that in front of Harry. "Here, give him to me," he said, moving closer to take Harry into his arms and give Sirius a break. He looked about done in already, Remus thought fondly. Sirius gratefully handed Harry over, thankful that Remus was here to help. He positively adored Harry, and would gladly watch him whenever he was needed (and even when he wasn't) but that didn't mean he had any bloody idea what he was doing. "Thanks," he said, raking his hand through his hair with a sigh. "Yeah, she's at the Minsitry trying to get all this shi- crap figured out. How they could've dragged him out is beyond me - he was fighting the Death Eaters!" Remus looked confused too and automatically kept rocking Harry as he wandered around the living room, thinking. "Why would they think he's a part of it? That's abit out of the blue, isn't it? Why him and not one of us or one of the Aurors in the Order? Unless..." It dawned on him that James was missing something pretty damn obvious and was probably pretty easy to trace with a spell or something. "They found his arm, didn't they? Crap. I hope they don't find my wand." Sirius blanched and them immediately kicked himself, feeling like a bloody fucking imbecile. He was a bloody fucking imbecile, for not having considered that before. "Fu- Of course," he said, feeling guilty about the idea of swearing in front of Harry - as though Harry would be able to somehow spout off the word. Babies didn't talk until they were... that was a good question, actually. "They had to have found it. Fu- Crap. What the hell was he thinking, ignoring the summons?" Not that Sirius would've done anything differently, but he was concerned about James and was praying that nothing bad came from this. Or nothing worse, really. "The question is - which group do they believe him to be a part of?" Remus wondered, glancing out the window. It was such a lovely day, which didn't seem right, given all the drama going on. The weather should be dark and stormy really, and would be if this were fiction, he reflected. "It wouldn't surprise me at all if they try to pin everything on him. Jesus, Sirius," he said, turning to face him again, looking stricken. "What are we going to do? How are we going to get him out of this?" It was the Marauder way, after all. One of them in trouble, the other three leap into action to get him out of it. Sirius paled considerably when Remus mentioned the possibility of the Ministry trying to pin everything on James, and his stomach bottomed out when he remembered just how many goddamn Death Eaters were in the fucking Ministry - and he was quite sure that the names Narcissa had given them was only the beginning. "Bloody hell," he said, beginning to pace, his mind racing. "I don't know - short of breaking him out - how the hell to get him out of there." The list of Death Eaters had only recently been published and thinking of those that were in the Ministry, there was no way Remus could believe that they were going to let James off with just a slap on the wrist. "Shit, Sirius. We can't just leave him there," he said, his mind not at all on the baby in his arms but on their friend, their brother locked up in the Ministry. "Does Peter know about this? He works at the Ministry. Maybe he can help." Sirius didn't look overly confident at that, knowing Peter didn't have any real push. But he was in the Minsitry, and he was bloody good at being the unseen eyes and ears that they desperately needed right now; he might know how to get them in. "I don't think he knows, but we should tell him," he decided, knowing they had to do something. "He might be able to sneak into the hit wizards office as Wormtail and at least be able to find out what we're up against," Remus suggested, unsure if breaking in was really the smartest thing they could do. But then, they could use glamours like when they got Marchwood out of the Wizengamot, he mused, mulling over ideas. "My journal's at home, so you'll have to tell Wormtail what's going on." Sirius was already looking for his journal, spotting it thrown carelessly onto the couch. "Yeah," he said, feeling antsy to get the message out to Peter as soon as he could. "Good idea. I mean he's Wormtail, who the hell else could get in and out the way he could?" He grabbed his journal and found a quill on the table, and scribbled a hasty message to Peter, hoping he got back to him quickly. Remus watched as Sirius wrote in his journal and glanced down at Harry who was still staring up at him, though Remus noticed his eyes were starting to droop. Most likely he had worn himself out with all his crying but Remus liked to think it was because Harry felt safe in his Uncle Remus' arms. "Any reply yet?" he asked after a few minutes, anxious to hear from Peter and find out what was going on.

Remus was beyond shocked by Sirius' entry and he hurried to Godric's Hollow. He had been at home, wondering what he was going to do about Henry (he was convinced the other man was going to join Greyback and that pissed him off) when the journal entry from Sirius had appeared. Remus couldn't believe it and wondered what the hell had been going on. He wondered just how this all had happened and how Sirius had found out.
"What the hell's going on?" was how he greeted Sirius when he arrived. "Why was James arrested?"
"He got a summons, from the Ministry," he said, looking upset but trying not to for Harry's sake. "Ignored it, and, of course, they came and bloody fucking hauled him away. "I don't know exactly what the hell's going on, but it has something to do with what happened in Hogsmeade."
"Lily's with James, I'm assuming?" he asked as he rocked Harry, smiling down at the little boy reassuringly. He could see that Harry had been upset, still was really, and assumed that with everything that had happened today, he just needed the reassurance that someone was nearby. Maybe he would sleep soon if one of them was holding him. Of course, this was all just a theory. What did Remus know about babies?
