Fabian had a difficult time not rolling his eyes at James. Of course he thought scotch was for after dinner. He was married. Fabian was rather of the opinion that so long as it wasn't on the job (where it could potentially get him barbecued) scotch was good at any hour of the day. Especially after work.
But he followed along without so much as a snide remark, slightly off the trail and to the side of the group. It always seemed to be like that, even if it wasn't intentional. All the married kids stuck together and that was that. He didn't mind, really. He was here for the meeting, not to socialize about dinner dates (really?).
He paid special attention to Elliot when she lopped over to him, scratching behind her ears and speaking gibberish in an excited voice. He almost couldn't help it. He liked animals. Even with slightly orange tails. But Elliot eventually ran back to Edgar and he fell quiet until Ed went on about the owl. And there his interest perked. The hungry, scotch-loving Fabian went into a box and he switched to problem-solving mode.
"Well, you aren't exactly the most covert Order member, Ed," he pointed out. "It could almost be anyone that's aware of our existence. I dunno. Sounds like a warning really, so I s'pose the question becomes who's trying to warn you - or us - about what's happening at the Ministry? I mean, I guess it could just as easily be someone who just wants to scare the shit out of us - or maybe just you - but it seems like a sort of roundabout way of doing it. Dunno. I can't decide if it's someone you do know - because of the measures taken for anonymity - or someone you don't, who just doesn't want to be publicly affiliated with you. I guess it seems more like it's a legitimate warning since it wasn't hexed or anything. Could be someone from inside the Ministry." Fabian shrugged and glanced at the rest of the group, looking for further input.
