"As charming as ever, James," Alice remarked, beaming at the two of them. She could see what Lily meant about feeling like a whale. It made her feel rather sorry for the younger witch. After all, they were due about the same time, but most people only realized Alice was pregnant after they were told. Which was how she preferred it, actually. She'd forced Frank to keep it a secret from the Ministry in the first couple months. They'd only been told at the start of the year, and even then, only her fellow Aurors were aware. As far as she knew, at least.
"Lily, my dear," she added, "we may have to cancel our dinner plans, if Edgar keeps us too long." She merely rolled her eyes at Fabian's request for scotch. Honestly, if he wasn't such a damned good wizard... well, they all had their quirks. Fabian was just a tad more openly frustrating than most.
