Edgar lifted the wards again, allowing Alice to come onto the property. "Hullo, Alice," he said, smiling. "Frank working, then? I thought he might be. It's a weird time of day, I realize; I've been being bombarded with crayons all day, so I lost track of the time. Calypso had to run to the market for something or other. She's getting some eats together for us, in case people haven't eaten."
Calypso had been annoyed to find out there might be a group coming over so late in the afternoon, especially after a long day between them of child-minding, grocery shopping and trying to reverse whatever had happened to Elliot's tail. They hadn't figured it out first or last, and the dog didn't seem as though she was dying/suffering/affected by the change in any way, so they decided to just leave her alone for the time being.
