DEATH EATERS GO ON RAMPAGE IN MUGGLE LONDON
Caldwalder Bruin - DP London
London - Both the muggle and wizarding world is in a state of shock this morning after a slew of catastrophic attacks were made against landmark areas of muggle London last night by Death Eaters. Piccadilly Circus, Tower Bridge and St. Christopher's Hospital received the worst of the aggression, but as many as seven other separate incidents took place over the course of the evening. The Ministry of Magic is conducting a rigorous investigation, and providing all available aid for medical attention, rescue operations and clean-up to the muggle Ministry.
The Dark Mark loomed repeatedly over the city skyline yesterday evening, marking what is being called a twisted vaudeville with no punch line; a dark, puppeted variety show. Tower Bridge was demolished by dark magic, fiendfyre was sent lose in Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden was set ablaze, and St Christopher's Hospital was blown up. Other prime London attractions (the Underground and Victoria Coach Station, among many more) were under siege from You Know Who's followers as well. The 'Death Eaters', as they call themselves, showed no signs of mercy or remorse in what is becoming one of the most devastating terrorist attacks in the history of the world. An unprecedented number of muggles are presumed to be dead, and early estimates sit in the late thousands. Panicked muggles with missing family members have been crowding attack sites, holding signs and pictures of loved ones, hoping for a miracle.
"This is nothing short of a horror show," Minister for Magic, Rodolphus Lestrange, told press early this morning. "The Department of Magical Law Enforcement has every available person working with the investigation and wreckage. Healers and other medical personnel have been tending to survivors along with muggle hospital workers. I would say that it is an impressive show of unity in the face of such harrowing adversity, but I am far too disgusted by the lengths to which these terrorists have gone to... To what, I just do not know. We have been plagued too long by the fear and ominous threat of You Know Who looming over us. I say enough. When these disasters have been sorted, after we mourn the innocent lives lost, and once a thorough probe has been conducted, I promise you that we will find the perpetrators of this chaos and lock them in Azkaban for life."
