Dear Betty, Happy birthday to my dearest friend! It was a true pleasure to see you on Sunday and I am very grateful that you are back in England with us, as I had missed you terribly while you were gone. I am sure that you will agree with me that we must take advantage of this proximity to meet more often. Augustus joins me to offer you the gift enclosed. I immediately thought of you when I saw this collection of egyptian phials, as I know how much you love Egypt and miss its sandy beauty and its culture. Augustus helped me find the rare potions that fill each phial - except one, as I could not resist filling the last one with your favourite perfume. This is only one part of your gift, though. Indeed, I plan on taking you to the wizarding wing of the British Museum at your earliest convenience to admire their extensive Egyptian collection. It might not compare to Egypt itself, but it is as close to it as we can find here. Once again, allow me to wish you a happy birthday and many returns! Truly, -Lyn |
