Security at the Ministry is being questioned as the DMLE was the sight of yet another escape very early this morning. All the more shocking, it is former Head of Aurors Alastor Moody who would have helped the prisoner out. The escapee is Marlene McKinnon, a suspected terrorist who was arrested on August 20th after ignoring a Ministry summon. Both Miss McKinnon and Mr Moody are now wanted by authorities. "Alastor Moody should not be approached under any circumstances," said Adam Williamson, the new Head of Aurors. "He has an unsettling history of instability and alcoholism and is obviously deeply involved in terrorist activities against the Ministry. As always, we ask that you report any sightings of this man to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and urge you to avoid interaction." The soaring price of Floo powder in Europe is expected to reach Britain this autumn. The sudden increase caused protest throughout wizarding Europe, notably in France where witches and wizards took the streets to call for Ministry-controlled Floo powder price. In Italy, a black market developped to provide cheaper Floo powder, with dangerous consequences when counterfeited Floo powder stopped working midway, trapping the traveling wizard for hours before they could be rescued. In Germany, the Apparition testing authorities are so overwhelmed that delays to get a testing date have now reached months. Here in Britain, our Ministry is preparing for the worst while hoping for the best. "The Floo powder prices might go back down before we're hit, though we're not blindly counting on it with our arms crossed," said a Ministry spokesperson. "We've hired new staff in the Department of Magical Transportation and prepared alternative travel methods. The Knight Bus should be back on the road next week, which will help as well." Bad news for the Wimbourne Wasps' fans: Ludo Bagman fell off his broom after receiving a bludger to the head during training today. Severely injured, he was immediately transported to St. Mungo's. According to his Healers, the star Beater will be out of action for at least three months. "It's a terrible blow to the team," said the Wimbourne Wasps' manager. "Bagman's our best Beater and we'll have a tough time replacing him. It's a chance for our younger players to show what they can do and to earn their place on the team, though. It's up to them, now." |
