MARRIAGE BILL TO BE PUT BEFORE WIZENGAMOT
Hortense Wallace - DP London
London - A controversial proposal to regulate marriages in the wizarding world is to be put before the Wizengamot early next week. Should the bill pass, unions made after 1970 will be reevaluated to ensure that they were made in "good faith," and all marriages thereafter will have to apply for government approval. This will include marriages between magical peoples and muggles, which, the bill stipulates, will aid in ensuring that Statute of Secrecy prohibitions are being upheld, and that in the event of the death of the magical partner, the muggle parter will legally recognized in the execution of wills. Few other details were made available at the present--the bill in its entirety will be attainable through the Ministry of Magic as early as Monday morning.
