Katie smiled happily. “Shhh! You don’t want to get Madame Pince coming after us, do you?” She hugged Heidi back, appreciative of the excitement on her part. “I didn’t get my invitation until after the opening game this year. I think they were scouting me and a couple others. I think the earliest anyone really hears if summer between sixth and seventh year.”
“I didn’t hate it.” She didn’t like the idea of saying anything that strong because it would reflect badly on Sam and she really was a nice girl. “But, yes, it is a bit of a…bust, I guess.” Katie shrugged.
“Yeah, you could say that. And…you know me.” Katie giggled self consciously. “I don’t exactly handle my whiskey too well…” She wanted to ask about Heidi’s own drinking, but decided to wait.
Katie sighed. She looked at Heidi as she chewed over what she should say or even if she should say it. There were a lot of details that Heidi didn’t know about Katie and her past and it had a lot to do with that.
“I fooled around with someone after the party. Well, at and after,” Katie admitted. She looked at Heidi. “It was Ginny.” Would she be mad? Jealous? Feel betrayed? Katie really hoped not…
