Katie was all flustered. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, but had not been cooperating and little wisps of hair had come free and tickled her cheeks and nose as she tried to find the book that she was looking for. Katie blew the hair out of her eyes and sighed in annoyance.
Even her school uniform was annoying her. Despite her tie hanging loose it felt like it was choking her. She’d pulled at her blouse all day and it was untucked and wrinkled and still felt too tight. Even her skirt was a skew and one sock was just a little lower on her leg than the other. Her glasses had slid down her nose a little and were a tad askew.
“Where is this bloody thing,” she hissed in frustration. She was at the back of the library and the dust and turned her eyes just a little red as it had the tip of her nose. “Stupid dust…”
Katie jumped as Heidi whispered in her ear. She turned around. “Oh, hey.” Katie smiled at friend, though she looked a little frazzled.
“Looking for a book. Advanced concepts in metamorphosing base metals. I need it for a paper I need to write.” Katie sighed. “I thought Sluggy was going to be better than Snape. I don’t think I am doing any better in his class than Snape’s, even with his bias.” She shook her head. “Why did I take NEWT level Potions again?”
“What are you up to?” she asked, glad to have someone to talk to as she resumed her search for the tome that vexed her so.
