“No!” Elly answered quickly. “Not at all.” She was happy to hear Hannah giggling, she would have hated to offend her. How could she tell her what the shock had been? Elly didn’t want to seem like a prude. She wasn’t slow by any means, but she’d never really had anything like that happen; let alone go on for a week in another country. It was all so exotic and…a little crazy to her. “I guess it’s just because… Well, I tend to have flings but they end up so…” She shrugged. “…they never tend to work out that well. Your fling sounded fun…” She also couldn’t bring herself to say that it was a little intimidating to think about. Hannah’s year or two of age seemed like an eternity in that moment.
Elly frowned. “I’m sorry. That is bullocks. If it’s not for her…that’s okay, she should just say that, ya know?” Gently, she reached out and rubbed Hannah’s shoulder. “Hopefully she’ll come around. A kiss is nothing to lose a friend over, right?”
Laughing, she shook her head. “Well, my reaction isn’t quite that extreme. Though, the idea of crawling into a sleeping bag with them when people are headed to bed is right out!”
Elly looked at Hannah. She smiled. “Hannah? Are you flirting with me?” she asked playfully, allowing the other girl an out by making it a joke if she wanted to. “And we haven’t been drinking or anything.” Elly looked at her and made sure not to pull away as she waited for an answer.
