As Hermione burst out laughing, Narcissa let out a small chuckle as well, though she reigned it in with quick skill. Madame Malkin looked between the two women and arched a brow before shrugging her shoulders. "Well, Narcissa's parties are always the best."
At this, Narcissa gracefully accepted the compliment with grace. "I wouldn't say that. I just enjoy being a good hostess." she shrugged. "Plus, it was really the only time I got to really socialize...at least with people I preferred to socialize with."
"Yes, Lucius always did hang around those...shady characters." Malkin replied with a shrug. She had Narcissa had known each other for years and Narcissa was one of her best customers. It was natural at this point that they had a friendly relationship. One of the few that Narcissa had, even if it was based on her buying Malkin's gowns and robes.
"Thank you." Narcissa said to Hermione, trying to not looked too pleased by the young woman's reaction. She turned to look at herself in the mirror as Madame Malkin went about taking measurements. "What do you think about the embroidery and beading, Hermione?" she asked. "I can't decide between those two sets of lace over there." she nodded to the table near by where the rest of the possible gown material laid out.
