Narcissa's own lip twitched in response to Malkin's fuss over her. She caught Hermione's eye as it was clear the girl was trying hard not to laugh, and found the emotion contagious as she too allowed her lips to quirk up into an amused grin before returning her attention to the owner of the store.
"You're going to Ms. Black's party?" Madame Malkin proclaimed in shock as Hermione told her her reasoning for being there. Professionally though, she quickly reeled herself back in. "Well, wonderful! You'll get to see a sneak peak of what the hostess will be knocking everyone off their feet with, if I may toot my own horn." the seamstress said with a laugh. "Well, come, come, the both of you."
Ushering them both to the back of the store, Malking quickly drug Narcissa over to a work station. "I have the base of the dress already laid out for you, you just have to be fitted, and then we can begin on the embroidery, beading, and charms and what not. You know he drill, Narcissa dear."
Narcissa chuckled, amused even more. Moving into a more serious manner, she looked over what was laid out. On a mannequin, laid out a sleeveless gown of expensive navy blue fabric with a scoop neckline and a deep dip in the back, ending what would be right below the waist and a slit up the side of the leg. On a table next to it was an assortment of embroidery ideas and beading schemes, mostly iridescent or a pale silver color. "Madame, I love what you have so far, I cannot wait for it to all come together."
"Well dear, first things first, we must make sure it fits right before we make it pop!" With that, Malkin swished her wand and sent the gown into a little dressing room with only a small curtain to cover the doorway. "Well, go put it on and I'll tailor it to fit."
Nodding, Narcissa moved to the dressing room, closing the curtain to the best of her ability. She changed as quick as one could into an evening gown before stepping back out.
"Already beautiful!" Malkin called, ushering Narcissa over to a stand where the woman could take in the proper measurements. As she stood and let Malkin take her measurements, Narcissa turned the best she could to Hermione. "What do you think, Hermione?" she asked with some trepidation. "The beading and embroidery will go over this, but this blue will be the base gown. I just have to decide on which beads and embroidery pattern once she tailors this."
