Luna sat curled up in a secluded nook in the library reading the most recent edition of the Quibbler. Her father always made sure she got an advanced copy every month and she always looked forward to it. The second she got it, she took it to this corner of the library to read. Reading it in front of people, even in her own dorms always lead to people making fun of her. Not that she really minded, everyone was entitled to their own opinion and it had been long ago that she had quit worrying about what people thought or said about her. She believed in her father's work and she was always fascinated by the articles about the new beasts.
Fidgeting with one of her dangling radish earrings, Luna was so enraptured in an article about a new species of mandrakes found in South America that she hadn't noticed anyone approach her. Hearing her name, she looked up and smiled at her friend Hermione. "Hello." she said in her signature airy voice.
"Of course." she nodded and closed her Quibbler, dogtagging the article she was reading for later. Hermione was one of her friends that she really didn't spend too much time on, one on one. In fact, she had always thought that Hermione really didn't like her too much because of her belief in things that even wizarding society didn't believe existed. But now the girl was coming to her for help and Luna was as always happy to oblige. "How can I help?"
