Spencer all but pouted at the obvious ignoring of her question. She knew it was a fair one. It was simply rude not to answer her. But she should have expected this much from Professor Carrow by now. She bit her tongue to keep from demanding an answer. For the moment.
Drawn back at the sudden withdrawal, Spencer was as relieved about the reprive as she was almost upset at the loss of the professor near her. But she tried not to dwell too much on that. Instead as the older woman moved back into her professor role, Spencer straightened back up and stood straight and at attention in front of the desk, facing her professor.
"W-what?" Spencer asked, surprised at the sudden command and information that she would be a student assistant. Normally, she would have been thrilled at the opportunity, but not the thought that she would be in close quarters with this woman regularly sent a shiver down her spine (and straight between her legs). "I...I don't need any guidance. Certainly not from you."
Where had Spencer suddenly gotten the nerve to talk back to a teacher like this? Something about Carrow did this to her. She decided not to think about it too much right now.
Eyes widening at the alternative to being Carrow's assistant, Spencer had heard stories of the other Carrow. She may have been terrified by this one, but she would still rather deal with her than her brother. "We'll, it looks like I don't have much of a choice, professor."
