Spencer had to bite her lip to keep from debating with her teacher. This clearly wasn't the place, or professor, for it. Still, every inch of Ravenclaw in her had to hold back form reacting to her biggest pet peeve - people acting condescendingly towards her. She was the top sixth year, she deserved at least a little recognition for her smarts. But this professor was giving her none. Spencer flinched slightly at her laugh. "I believe that true academics must be objective. If what you read in my work isn't as objective as you'd like, maybe that says more about your opinions than mine."
Spencer instantly slammed her mouth shut. Where had that come from? Usually she was the last person to talk back to a teacher like that, no matter how passive aggressive it was.
Her mouth slightly opened, Spencer sat stunned. How dare this teacher, who didn't even know her, to judge her work so harshly. She knew it wasn't her best, but even then she knew it had been better than most. But learning from her last outburst, Spencer kept her mouth shut. "Yes ma'am. I understand." she mumbled.
Her heart racing again as the dark professor stood, Spencer sat still, back as straight as a board and it took everything in her not to shiver at Carrow's touch. But she kept looking straight ahead, not up at the professor. "I wouldn't imagine you would be lenient with a student who's displeased you."
